The presidential panel handover ceremony of the Jagannath University Career Club (JNUCC) was held today, alongside the formal inauguration of the club’s first official website, jnucc.org.

The website was launched by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim at a ceremony organised at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room of Jagannath University on Monday (February 23).

At the event, the club’s moderator, Md Shafiqul Islam, announced the new presidential panel for the 2026–27 term. K M Tamim Rahman was named president, while Rabbani Rasa Ratul was appointed general secretary, along with the declaration of the full executive committee.

Crests and certificates were distributed among members of the outgoing presidential panel, and certificates were also presented to members of the club’s governing body.

Speaking as a special guest, Treasurer Professor Dr Sabina Sharmin said that although the university administration has expectations from the Career Club, those expectations are not always fulfilled.
“This is a historical challenge for us. Various movements have consumed much of our time, leaving limited scope to focus on such initiatives. If the new members uphold the organisation’s commitment, success will surely follow. Teamwork is crucial, and the next leadership should aim to surpass their predecessors,” she said.

In his address as chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim echoed the treasurer’s remarks, noting that the university has repeatedly had to deal with movements and demands that divert attention from creative and academic pursuits.
“We often remain concerned about when groups may come forward with various demands. As a result, much of our time is spent on matters beyond academics,” he said.

He further emphasised the need to expand the activities of the Career Club, adding that multiple career fairs should be organised in coordination with the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JOKSU).
“The administration will extend all necessary cooperation in this regard,” he assured.

Other members of the Career Club were also present at the ceremony.
