The Notre Dame Society of Jagannath University (JnU) hosted its Freshers Reception and Reunion 2025 at Shemol Bangla Resort, Keraniganj, on Friday (12 September).

Three buses carrying students left the JnU campus at 8:30 a.m. and arrived at the resort by 10 a.m. The day-long program brought together current members and alumni, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The event was graced by Society President Zahirul Islam Sohag, General Secretary Taiyabur Rahman, Joint Secretary Sajib, Event Secretary A. R. Mallik, Treasurer Ibne Ahad, Promotion Secretary Ismail Hossain, and IT & Communication Executive Member Dipto Mondal. All Notre Dame alumni currently studying at JnU also joined the occasion.

Speaking at the program, President Sohag said,
“Today’s event has created a joyous atmosphere. The credit and happiness belong to all Notre Dame alumni at JnU. Notre Dame College has always encouraged us to balance academics with extracurricular activities. With its 25 active clubs, the college helps students build diverse skills, which later shape their university life.”

Addressing the freshers, Society Advisor Mamun remarked,
“Many of us could not secure admission to Dhaka University, BUET, or medical colleges and instead enrolled at JnU. Some may feel disappointed by this, but there is no reason to lose hope. Life must not pause even for a moment—you need to discover your talents and use them wisely.”

He also emphasized the importance of academics, adding,
“Never compromise with your studies. Work hard, but also seize the opportunities this organization provides. It helps you become smarter, enhances communication skills, and builds leadership qualities.”

The day’s festivities included cricket and football tournaments, a raffle draw, and a cultural evening. The event concluded with a group photo session at 6:30 p.m., leaving behind cherished memories for both seniors and newcomers.
